Curfew Lifted

Covid-19 Update
30 May 2020
Curfew lifted in Mauritius

The curfew in Mauritius imposed due to Covid-19 is being lifted on Saturday 30 May 2020, at midnight. From Sunday 31 May 2020, most economic activities resume. The public will be allowed to move freely. However, some restrictions will still be imposed on certain activities, in public spaces and public gatherings. However, Mauritius' frontiers will not open for the moment.

The country has not recorded any new local cases over more than a month. 3 imported cases of Covid-19 have been registered last week. They are, repatriated passengers in quarantine.  As of now, more than 110 000 tests have been conducted. The population is urged to maintain precautionary actions.

With the borders remaining locked, our Tourism Industry will continue to suffer heavily. All the strategies put in place for this sector will only be effective once lockdown and travel ban measures, here and overseas, can safely be lifted and business confidence starts to return.

ABOVE ALL, WE CARE

Stay safe and healthy
