OPENING OF ANANTARA IKO MAURITIUS
RESORT & VILLAS
Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas of the Currimjee Jeewanjee Group opens in soft-opening from 1 September 2019. Developed and conceptualized by Currimjee Hospitality and managed by the Thai hotel group MINOR under their flagship brand 'Anantara', this new 5-star 164 rooms and soon 8 villas (2020), is located in the idyllic southeastern region of Mauritius.
The hotel has an exceptional spa, the main restaurant 'Horizon' offering all-day buffets, two bars and the restaurant 'Sea. Fire. Salt. "(Grill and seafood) - the signature restaurant of Anantara-," Zafran "offering private dinners with a wine cellar and finally Deli 'Bon Manzer' based on a concept of" Healthy & Wellness food ".
According to the commitments and values of the Currimjee Group, the hotel has been designed and developed with respect for the environment and sustainable development. Built respecting 100 meters of the "high water mark", a first in Mauritius, integrating natural ventilation, solar energy, swimming pool with ozone, a high-performance wastewater treatment system and beyond the required standards, the Hotel has no infrastructure on the public beach of La Cambuse and does not offer any motorized water sports.
At the economic and social level, to date, more than 138 people have been recruited, including more than 100 in the Southern region. The other positions in power are being recruited.
The hotel has also already started working with the local community in the South, thanks to the development of, among other things, a "farm to table" for its restaurants, by training farmers in organic agriculture.
Anantara Iko Mauritius Resort & Villas offers a new alternative to Mauritians and foreign tourists to discover or rediscover the beautiful South East Region of Mauritius, its natural beauty and its cultural sites.
Dinesh Burrenchobay, Managing Director of the Group's Hospitality Division, declares, "This return to the hotel sector in Mauritius is a decisive step for our Group. The journey has been long and we are delighted to see the culmination of this eco-friendly project in which we have always believed.
